Acapulco is one of the main tourist destinations in the Americas, is a city and port in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Its bay was named Santa Lucia, this name was given by its discoverers, the spanish sailors and it was an important port since founded, in 1519.
From the 30s to the 70s, Acapulco was a global point of access for celebrities and globetrotters. However, new resorts in places like Cancún and Cabo San Lucas left Acapulco forgotten to foreign travelers during the next 30 years. Acapulco is currently recovering the splendor it had in the past. |

Acapulco is famous for its nightlife, as it has been for many decades. Nightclubs and bars are located in Costera Road. Informal lobby or poolside cocktail bars often offer free live entertainment. In addition, there is the beach bar zone, where younger crowds usually go. |
