The capital Kuala Lumpur is situated in the Peninsular Malaysia, just 300 kilometers far away from Singapore.
Due to its proximity to the equator, Malaysia has a tropical rainforest climate. The country is hot and humid all year round, with an average temperature of 27 °C (80 °F) and almost no variability in the yearly temperature.
The high season in tourism terms, is between the months of December and April. The country experiences two monsoon seasons, the Northeast Monsoon and the Southwest Monsoon. The Northeast Monsoon brings heavy rainfall to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and western Sarawak, in Borneo, while the Southwest Monsoon signifies dryer conditions throughout the country except Sabah, in the north of Borneo. |
